NO SINGLE PATTERN IS EVER EXACTLY THE SAME, THOUGH, WHICH IS WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS ART.

Shea has been practicing the art of orizomé (folding & dyeing paper) since she was 6 years old, when her parents started the annual tradition, in order to save money and have fun making Christmas wrapping paper. They had the most beautiful presents on the block!

Years later, when Shea became over-stressed and burned out in her career in international adult education, she returned to the dyeing she learned as a child and continued improving her skills. It brought her such joy that she wanted to share these beauties with people in a way that would transcend the delicate nature of the original pieces; thus Chez Shea (fr. house/place of Shea) was born.
